The free tool below runs entirely in this browser — no account, nothing stored or transmitted. Redact anything you would not want kept before you type it.
Open the companion tool →Why a transcript correction needs a traceable source record
A transcript or AI summary can put words with the wrong speaker, omit a qualifier, or turn a tentative idea into an action item. A Teams organizer can edit some transcripts after a recording is uploaded; available controls depend on the product and workspace settings.
For a work record, write down what changed and ask the organizer or records owner to correct or annotate the source. Do not make a private copy of the audio or record a call unless policy and consent allow it.
The protocol
- Save the meeting date, platform, transcript location, and the exact version or recap you reviewed; do not upload the transcript here.
- Find the specific timestamp, speaker label, current wording, and the precise correction. Compare it only with notes or a recording you are allowed to access.
- Send the organizer or records owner a short written request quoting the disputed line and explaining the factual correction without adding unrelated confidential details.
- Ask whether the source transcript can be edited or annotated and who controls the official copy; permissions and correction options vary by workspace.
- Keep the request and response. If the transcript is being used in a formal workplace process, follow the employer's records or review channel and seek qualified local advice if needed.
What the tool does
Build a meeting-transcript correction request. It runs locally in this browser and sends nothing.
Limit first: This is a record-preparation aid, not employment or legal advice. It cannot authenticate a transcript, make an organizer edit a record, or guarantee a workplace outcome.
Open the companion tool →Cost and free path
Cost: Free: one complete local run in this browser, with no account or upload; the tool does not transmit what you enter. Optional $4 one-time convenience unlock for unlimited runs of this tool on this browser; never a subscription. The protective answer and every free-path step remain free.
Automated decision this documents: automated speech-to-text and AI-generated meeting summaries that may attribute words or action items to a participant
Free path, in order (no cost):
- The meeting organizer or designated record owner, contacted through a known work channel
- The workspace administrator or records policy contact if edit permissions are unclear
- A union representative, worker center, or qualified local adviser if the transcript affects a formal workplace process
What this cannot do: It cannot authenticate a transcript, make an organizer edit a record, or guarantee a workplace outcome.

One human next step
For Microsoft Teams, ask the organizer to review the timestamp and correct the authorized OneDrive or SharePoint transcript, or explain who owns the record if they cannot edit it. Keep the request and response. Other meeting systems have their own administrator and correction routes.
