Start with the channel change
Export or copy only the minimum transaction lines you need. Remove full card numbers, account numbers, addresses, and login information before pasting.
Open the companion tool →Why this matters
The app looks for repeated descriptions and amounts in text you paste locally. That is a sorting aid, not proof that a charge is authorized or recurring. Merchant descriptors change, and a familiar name can still be spoofed.
The meaningful action comes after the reading: open the official merchant account, check renewal terms, cancel through the account or card issuer’s documented route, and keep a record.
The protocol
- Export or copy only the minimum transaction lines you need. Remove full card numbers, account numbers, addresses, and login information before pasting.
- Review repeated merchant names, approximate amounts, and dates. Confirm every candidate against the merchant’s official account page or receipt.
- Record the cancellation path and the date you used it. A cancellation screen or email is more useful than relying on memory.
- For an unrecognized charge, contact the card issuer or bank using the number on the card or statement. Do not use a link from an unexpected message.
A ledger, not a fraud verdict
The app reports candidate repeats and explains the text it matched. “Review” means verify with the merchant or issuer. It never says a charge is legitimate, fraudulent, or refundable.
Limit first: This tool does not connect to a bank, see your account, cancel a subscription, or resolve a dispute. It can miss renewals and flag ordinary repeat purchases. Never paste financial credentials.
Build your recurring charge audit →One human next step
Confirm the candidate with the merchant’s official account page or call your card issuer using a trusted number; do not delay a dispute while waiting for this tool.
Research log and safety checks
AI-assist path: not applicable to the core audit. Repeated-charge candidates need a visible text basis and human confirmation; the browser-only parser avoids requesting bank access. §6.10: not a frontier-pace topic.
§0.5 protection result: category is financial-agent-exposure; crisis-adjacent: no; fear/urgency/scarcity toolkit used: no. The protective function is free and the paid feature is convenience only.
