What Automatic Content Recognition (ACR) actually does

ACR technology analyzes pixels and audio on your TV screen second-by-second to identify shows, ads, and games to build advertising profiles.

Disabling ACR and voice assistant recording does not affect your ability to stream shows or use HDMI devices.

The protocol

  1. Open your TV's settings menu and locate 'Privacy', 'Terms & Policy', or 'Viewing Data'.
  2. Turn off 'Automatic Content Recognition' (ACR), 'Live Plus', or 'Viewing Information Services'.
  3. Disable 'Interest-Based Advertising' and voice recognition telemetry.
  4. Mute or disable built-in microphone switches on the TV frame or remote if available.

What the tool does

Audit and configure privacy settings on your smart TV and voice remote. Runs in browser.

Limit first: This is an instructional configuration guide. It cannot alter TV software automatically.
