PRICING / FARES

The Fare Changed Three Times While You Booked. Capture It

Airline and travel pricing shifts by device, session, and timing. A fare-history pack is what turns 'it went up while I was looking' into a complaint with dates and screenshots.

Start here

The free tool below runs entirely in this browser — no account, nothing stored or transmitted. Redact anything you would not want kept before you type it.

Why the booking session is the evidence window

Search results, seat maps, and checkout prices can change mid-session. Capturing each step with its timestamp is the only way to show what happened.

Several jurisdictions require all-in pricing for tickets, and regulators have taken an interest in personalised pricing; the pack is also useful for a refund or a chargeback.

The protocol

  1. Screenshot each price you see with the timestamp, device, and whether you were logged in.
  2. Record the itinerary details: flight numbers, dates, fare class, and baggage terms.
  3. Complete or abandon the booking, then note the final total separately from the itemised total.
  4. Compare the same itinerary in a fresh session on a different device.
  5. Write the timeline and send it with any complaint or refund request.

What the tool does

Build a fare-history complaint pack It runs locally in this browser and sends nothing.

Limit first: This is a record-keeping and comparison aid, not legal or financial advice. It cannot prove that a price was personalised, and it does not know what a company's pricing model does internally.

Cost and free path

Cost: Free: one complete run in this browser, no account. Optional $4 one-time unlock allows unlimited runs of this tool on this browser. The free path and safety guidance never require payment.

Rule status (mixed route): Status, 2026-10-03: all-in ticket pricing rules are in force for air travel; personalised-fare inquiries continue and outcomes vary by jurisdiction, so the airline's written complaint record comes first.

Automated decision this documents: session- or device-dependent fare pricing

Free path, in order (no cost):

  1. The airline's written complaints channel (free, and it creates a record)
  2. The Department of Transportation's consumer complaint route for air travel
  3. USA.gov's complaint finder if the seller was a travel agency rather than an airline

What this cannot do: It cannot prove that a price was personalised, and it does not know what a company's pricing model does internally.

One human next step

Send the pack to the airline's written complaints channel first, then to the Department of Transportation or your national aviation regulator if the complaint is about pricing disclosure.
